The magic of the winter season returns to Lethbridge with the Winter Lights Festival. The beautiful Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden will be decorated with over 115,000 lights. Stroll the garden paths under the dazzling stars and lights. The festival is Southern Alberta’s new winter tradition.

Join us for the opening weekend of the Winter Lights Festival. The garden will be open from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm to view the lights.

Come look for neat cultural gifts and products. Zakka-ya Lethbridge will be here at the Garden with their retail items to sale. Zakkka-ya has many Japanese and Asian like products that will bring a smile to your loved one this season.

Koko’s Restaurant is preparing a unique warm treat. Okinawa Donuts-Sata Andagi.

Sata andagi are sweet deep-fried buns of dough similar to doughnuts, native to the Japanese prefecture of Okinawa. Traditional Okinawan Andagi is made by mixing flour, sugar and eggs. It was a favourite treat for children and adults to enjoy. The ingredients are mixed into a ball and deep fried. Come try an Okinawa donut with sugar and warm up your Winter Light Experience. $5.00/serving

Single admission to the Winter Lights Festival is $7.50. But, for the real festival experience check out our new Tomodachi (friendship) and Kazoku (family) packages, which include hot beverages and matcha cookies at great savings.

Guests can now buzz through the lineups by purchasing an online ticket that is valid on any of the nights the garden is open for the Winter Lights Festival.

Please note, individual nights of the Winter Lights Festival may be cancelled due to severe cold, snow, or wind. Please check the garden homepage for any cancellation notification. Guests are also welcome to call the garden at 403 328-3511.
